N.S. Nature Tourism

The Nova Scotia nature tourism market definitely has much potential for future development
and growth as the province has an abundance of natural features to offer, is relatively pristine, has
many accommodations, and is currently rated highly as a destination by many. Of all nature tourists to
the province “69% of the nature visitors rated Nova Scotia as much better or somewhat better than
other destinations, compared to a figure of only 57% for non-nature tourism travelers.”26 There is great
economic potential to be realized from nature based tourism and it is a growing segment of the
industry. From the above statement the province obviously has a built-in nature tourist demographic.
