Study Area

For this project the study area has been confined to the local Annapolis Valley area,
specifically the crown land parcels of Annapolis and Kings Counties. This was done to help break the
project into a manageable test region where the model for tourism values/potential can hopefully be
implemented, tested, and eventually adapted to other areas. The primary potential that this study area
possesses is of a hiking and canoeing nature with many interconnected lake and river systems
throughout Annapolis and Kings Counties having tourism development potential that could be further
utilized. The location map for the study area is shown as figure 1 on the following page.
